Women+ in STEM

Hi darling! I’m Alex, a female physicist and host of the podcast Alex the Physicist & Friends. I’m creating a special episode exploring what it’s really like to be a woman+ working in STEM, which will be released on the international day of women and girls in science, February 11th.

The goal of this episode is to share honest experiences from people who are not men in science, technology, engineering, and maths: the advantages, the challenges, and the things that still need to change. I want to highlight both how far we’ve come and the problems that still exist, celebrate some brilliant women and gender-diverse people shaping STEM today, and spark a conversation about what real inclusion looks like.

I need your input! I would like to collect input from other women+ in STEM to highlight authentic stories, celebrate progress, and explore what still needs to change to make STEM truly inclusive.

All responses are completely anonymous, and every question is optional, share as much or as little as you like. It should take 5-10 minutes to complete. I may quote parts of your story (anonymously) in the episode or in accompanying social media posts to amplify these voices.

If you’d like to be contacted for a potential interview or follow-up, there’s an optional box at the end to leave your email and/or social media handle.

This form will close for responses on the 19th December.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Every story helps paint a more honest and powerful picture of what it means to exist and thrive as a gender minority in STEM. <3
